On June 13, the Wood Trails Ribbon Cutting marked the grand opening of the first trail in a series of interconnected paths within the expansive park area. The celebration brought together residents, visitors, and even a few four-legged family friends, heralding a new area of exploration and recreation in our community.

In 2020, the Woodinville City Council allocated funds to begin the design process of creating a multi-use trail system within the 53-acre property. The Wood Trails project aims to provide an extensive network of paths, enabling trail visitors to easily navigate the park's picturesque landscapes.

The newly established Dave Henry Trail, named in honor of the late Woodinville resident for his significant contributions to preserving and maintaining the Wood Trails area prior to the City gaining ownership of the land and for his unwavering commitment to the Woodinville community, is officially open to the public.

As the City of Woodinvilles continues developing the trail system, amenities such as benches, wayfinding signs, and an information board will be included. Final renderings of the forthcoming trails are expected to be shared with the City by the fall of 2023.

The City thanks everyone who came out to celebrate the opening of the first trail.
